Bled Castle,

Art Nodes by Eva Petrič at Bled Castle

This year's Advent at Bled Castle will be marked by the astonishing transmedia artistic performance of an internationally renowned Slovenian artist, Eva Petrič.

The versatile artist living and creating between Slovenia, Vienna and New York will showcase her lace installations at Bled Castle’s outdoor and indoor exhibition spaces from 15 November 2023 to 4 February 2024. Her creativity transcends the boundaries of a single medium as she delves into photography, video, installations, as well as art performances, sound, and literature.

Eva Petrič graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and visual arts from Webster University in Vienna, and earned her master's degree in new media from Transart Institute Berlin/Danube University Krems in 2010. Petrič’s works have been displayed at over 100 solo exhibitions and more than 130 group exhibitions worldwide, earning her numerous prestigious awards. In 2022, her mini art object ‘Earthling Tattoo Seal’ made its way to the International Space Station. Since October 2020, her work ‘Collective Corona Rose’ displayed in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna has been drawing the attention of the public to the importance of solidarity in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

When asked about her works from the ‘WEB Chain’ series (colour photographs captured through an assemblage of lace positioned in a light frame), which will be on display at the Stolp Gallery as part of the Art Nodes exhibition, Eva Petrič says: "We exist within a lace-like network of knots and loops, more interconnected and interdependent than we even realize. 'If one thread is torn, all others vibrate...'

The Art Nodes exhibition by Eva Petrič at Bled Castle will be open from 15 November 2023 to 4 February 2024, every day during the castle's opening hours. Welcome!
