Festivali Bled
The international music festivals Okarina Festival Bled and Festival Bled have a long tradition of 26 and 21 years, respectively, and their varied programme of events enriches the summer in Bled every year. Over the last decade, the festivals are held under the auspices of the Bled Culture Institute.
Festival Bled
For more than two decades, the first two weeks in July have been booked in our calendars for a special event – a festival which focuses on classical music but boldly opens the door to other musical genres. Festival Bled is an integral part of the cultural and artistic landscape of Bled.
During the festival several Bled venues host a number of concerts and a wide range of supporting events. Concerts of various music genres and styles will be accompanied by masterclasses and outreach workshops where master musicians share their knowledge with young talents.
The masterclasses of Festival Bled, led by its artistic director of many years, Mr. Jernej Brence, have been attended by over 2,000 aspiring musicians, many of whom have by now gained international renown.
Okarina Festival Bled
Okarina Festival Bled is one of the oldest music festivals in Europe, that was held under the auspices of the Bled Institute of Culture between years 2006 and 2019.
Year after year, folk music from across the globe, in all its versions and variants, draws crowds of people to Bled with its clear message on the importance of multi-culturality and coexistence.
In a bit more than a quarter of a century, Okarina Festival has brought to Bled more than 240 top music bands and solo musicians. The festival is held at the end of July and beginning of August at two venues: Bled Castle and the stunning Lake Promenade. Every year Leo Ličof, Artistic Director of Okarina, brings to Bled the best world music performers and continuously adapts the festival programme to reflect the latest trends and influences of classical music, jazz and other musical genres.
